What does “Snapper” refer to?
This is our registered trademark, and we refer to round thermostats that use a disc-by-metal mechanism (US-118,602, 603,  622, 625, 628) as “Snappers.”
Please tell me about certification standards in Japan and overseas.
In Japan, our products have passed testing and been certified and registered under the "Voluntary Registration System for Electrical Appliances Components and Materials"(CMJ) and the “Inspection System for Gas Burning Appliances Components”(JIA). We have also obtained UL, C-UL, CSA, VDE, and CQC certifications for international standards. Please refer to our catalog for more details.
Please tell me about the rated current and voltage.
Unless otherwise specified, the rated voltage and current values are based on a resistive load (power factor: cos φ = 1). For non-resistive loads, variations in current capacity and inrush current may occur; for details, please refer to our catalog or contact us.
Please tell me the maximum rating for contacts designed for low currents.
The maximum ratings for gold contacts are AC125V, 0.5A; AC50V, 1A; DC40V, 0.5A; and DC24V, 1A. If the load exceeds these values, please use silver contacts.
Please tell me about the temperature range.
The US-602 and US-603 have a temperature setting range of 0–150°C; the US-622 has a range of 0–185°C; the US-625 has a range of 0–270°C; and the US-118 has a range of 0–190°C. (Single-point setteing. Please contact us separately regarding other models.)
What causes that clicking sound when it's operating?
This sound is caused by the bimetallic disc inside the thermostat flipping over, so it is by no means a malfunction.
What is a “differential”?
In short, it refers to the “difference between the operating temperature and the reset temperature.” For example, for a thermostat set to “100°C OFF, 85°C ON,” the differential would be “15deg.”
Please explain how to measure the operating temperature.
The operating temperature data for our thermostats is measured under the following main conditions:
(1) Use of an air-circulating constant-temperature chamber
(2) Temperature increased and decreased at a rate of 1 K per minute
(3) No load current applied
(4) Recording of the initial [first operation] operating temperature

This method is commonly used as a standard practice.

In addition, since the operating temperature varies significantly depending on the installation location and the actual load current, please confirm the temperature of the object to be controlled and specify it when placing your order.

Could you explain the difference between overheat protection and temperature control, and what other applications there are?
In general, over-temperature protection devices do not operate frequently; they are used in safety devices such as those designed to prevent water heaters from running dry. Control-type devices, on the other hand, are often used for applications such as maintaining product temperature and are used in a wide range of fields, including home appliances and commercial equipment.
The heat-sensitive surface of the thermostat has become dented. Can I still use it?
Since the thermostat unit is a precision component, the set temperature may become inaccurate if the heat-sensitive part is dented or subjected to a strong impact; therefore, We recommend that you refrain from using it.
